150th Anniversary of the Civil War
case studies
Hostilities began on April 12, 1861, when Confederate forces attacked a US military installation at Fort Sumter in South Carolina. In the presidential election of 1860, the Republican Party, led by Abraham Lincoln, had campaigned against the expansion of slavery beyond the states in which it already existed. His election resulted in seven Southern states declaring their secession from the Union, which Lincoln and his administration viewed as a rebellion.
In 2011, America will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. art270 was hired by Eastern National to create this commemorative calendar that includes photographs, paintings and illustrations that highlight the important battles and events that took place during the war's first year.
