Hopewell_CoverJohn Opet, a senior designer at art270, recently completed revisions to a map we created several years ago for Hopewell Big Woods — 73,000 acres of contiguous forest, lakes, streams and fields centered on Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site and French Creek State Park, Pennsylvania. This second edition of the map and guide adds new walking trails, driving tours, natural features, and updates on local eateries and attractions. I recently had the pleasure of using the map as a guide to complete 30 miles of the 132-mile Horse Shoe Trail which runs through Hopewell Big Woods from Rt. 100 in the east to Rt. 10 on the west. According to the guide, Hopewell Big Woods encompasses over 110,000 square miles with 4,000 acres of old growth forest, making it a jewel to be discovered less than an hour from Philadelphia. Get your copy of the guide by visiting the Hopewell Big Woods website and get out there now. Don’t wait for the third edition to see what you’ve been missing.
